Meteor Shower Sail

We headed out to where the sky is big and dark to watch the Perseid meteor showers. There was no moon that night to obscure the stars. A sail on a big schooner out to see the stars, how fun!

Local astronomer Virginia Renehan, from the Gloucester Area Astronomy Club, joined us and gave us some tips about what we were seeing. She is an encyclopedia of knowledge about the night sky and she is fabulous about sharing her information.

We all learned a lot and had an amazing night time sailing adventure.
